The Village Bakery is nestled in the village of Haines Junction in the Southwestern Yukon. The magestic St. Elias Mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop for this picturesque community of 750 residents. The community of Haines Junction is "the junction" of the Alaska Highway and the Haines (Alaska) Road. All land WEST of these two main highway arteries is protected, making this the largest protected area in the world. (10,000,000 hectares). The protected area encompasses four area designations:

  1. Glacier Bay National Park (Alaska)
  2. Tatshenshini/Alsek Provincial Park (British Columbia)
  3. Kluane National Park/Reserve (Yukon)
  4. Wrangell/St. Elias National Park (Alaska)

The area also includes the largest non-polar icefields in the world and the tallest mountain in Canada (Mt. Logan - 5959m). Travellers from all over the globe come to enjoy the beautiful country.
